What To Bring
From Lomé, we head East to reach the Mono River. Here we hop on a traditional fishing boat called a pirogue. Riding along the river, we enjoy the wildlife, flora, and the riverbank habitants’ daily life. Around noon, a pause on the riverbank serves us traditionally local dishes with grilled fresh fish picked up by the fishermen earlier in the morning.
After delightful lunch, the pirogue heads back through the mangroves, and those who feel for a dip in the water can enjoy a refreshing swim in the river.
Leaving the river, we head for the Ecomuseum Guindoua of Aneho, where the guide leads us through the garden. We meet the founder of the museum, who shares his passion and dedication to protecting and conserving the local flora, including the mangroves along the Mono River, while refreshments are served.
On the way back to Lomé, you will have marvelous new memories to reflect on and share with your travel companions.
